Username

The unique, short name of the user. This name and the password described below have to be used to access the local servers, i. e. for authentication. Once set, this name can't be changed again.

Special User "admin":

The "admin" account is always available, can't be deleted and has all rights a user can have. Its initial password after installation is "admin" - and you should change it NOW!, if you have not done it already.

Special Username "nntpdefault":

If an account with username "nntpdefault" and password "*" is created, its NNTP settings will be used, if somebody accesses the local NNTP server without prior authentication.

Full name

Full name of user. It has no special meaning, you can use it to identify the account.

User ID

This unique number is used to identify the account. It is assigned by Hamster when creating the account and can't be changed.

Password

The password for the user, that is used to authenticate on local servers. To change the password, select Change button and enter the new password twice. To clear the password (i. e. revoke access to local servers), select the Clear button.

User's profile for accessing Remote Control server

The selected profile determines, if and how this user can access Hamster's Remote Control (RC) server. See File RCProfiles.hst for details on these profiles.
